Who we are

Our mission is to provide elegant solutions and exceptional service. We are well positioned for growth in the hospitality industry, offering leading integrations and applications in that space. Our beautiful offices are located in the Ravenwood corridor, near the Montrose stop on the Brown line.

We leverage proprietary and open source code to build our applications and integrations, proudly contributing to opensource projects like FreeSWITCH and FusionPBX. Learn more at percipia.com and github.com/percipia

Our Chicago based team has been working remotely for the past year due to the global health crisis. We have recently evolved our permanent remote work policy. Starting in August, we will be working in the office on Wednesdays. The other four days we have the option to work remotely.

We are seeking individuals of high integrity and objectivity to join our band of warrior experts. We believe in building a community through team building and company outings, and these will resume in person soon. Over the past 15 months, we played games together twice a week to maintain our connections.

The role

As Jr. Developer you will work closely with our Lead at first to establish your workflow, which will be rooted in Gitlab and CI/CD practices. Your projects could range widely, depending on your skills -- from Android and iOS, to web services in Go and front-end work in react. You will also become familiar with our products and services by participating in client support, including a slot in our on-call help desk rotation, once you are up to speed.

During the interview process, you will be asked to demonstrate your ability to think critically, write code, and use git effectively for version control.

Prior to Covid-19, we offered services on-site, during the roll out of resort systems, such as IP telephone systems and room applications. In most cases, our Developers do not need to travel, but we are looking for people comfortable with a little travel, who can present well to our clients. You should have a valid driver's license, and the ability to rent a car.

Basic:

  • Exceptional professionalism, written and oral communication skills
  • A consistently positive attitude under pressure
  • A beginner's mind
  • The ability and willingness to travel (approximately 1 to 2 weeks a year at maximum)

  • Strong working knowledge of Linux, and experience with a shell
  • Excellent grasp of IPv4/v6, TCP, HTTP, and other protocols
  • Programming chops and sample code in at least two of these (C++, Java, Objective C, Swift, Golang, PHP, Javascript)
  • Demonstrated understanding of version control using git and Github, with a leg up for Gitlab experience
  • Some experience designing, developing, testing, or publishing mobile apps -- hobby work is fine
  • Some knowledge of FreeSWITCH and/or Asterisk would be a big plus
