It is always nerve-racking coming into a new company and trying to break the ice. Ensuring that new employees feel comfortable is crucial to building a positive transition within a company. We thought it would be fun to ask Kathy a few questions to get to know her a little better.
Q: What is your official work title?
A: Business Development Manager
Q: Can you tell us more about your professional experience/history?
A: I have been "selling" either products or services for the last 20 years. I have had the opportunity to work in multiple industries giving me diversity and the ability to expand my network of contacts. I returned to school in 2015 and received my BS in Business Management in 2017.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. You can find me sipping on a great dark craft beer while listening to live music. If not there, I enjoy new restaurants and fine wine! I walk on a regular basis and enjoy biking. When I am at home I relax while working in my yard and always coming up with a new DIY project!
Q: What is your greatest travel experience?
A: I love to travel, but years ago we took the Amtrak with the kids to Colorado. Seeing the countryside from that view was hands down the best ever (even though the trip back was snow delayed for 12 hours lol).
Q: Favorite movie?
A: I have a few, but I would say Pretty Women, as Julia Roberts and Richard Gere are two of my favorite actors. I love movies so saying I have a favorite is very hard!
Q: Guilty pleasure music artist?
A: I love pretty much ALL music, I find mostly I listen to soft rock from the '70s and '80s (don't judge me haha) Artist, well anything from Queen!!
Q: What is something that inspires you?
A: Learning!!! I love to learn and to receive great advice from wise people!!
Q: What would you say your professional goal would be now that you are employed at Percipia?
A: My goal is to help with the continued growth at Percipia, but also to help new customers have the best technology solution! I am excited to be learning about the hospitality industry and working with everyone here!
