Welcome to Percipia's Employee Spotlight Series! We're excited to introduce our latest team member, Curtis, and give you all a chance to get to know him a little better. Curtis recently joined our team and we wanted to give him the opportunity to share a bit about himself, his background, and what he's most looking forward to in his new role. So, without further ado, let's dive in and get to know Curtis!
Q: What is your official work title?
A: My official work title is System Support Specialist
Q: Can you tell us more about your professional experience/history?
A: In Before joining Percipia, I was an electrician for the past 11 years. While it was a rewarding career, I always felt it was not the right fit for me. I decided to pursue my bachelor's degree in Computer Science, eager to join the tech space!
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I have a wide variety of hobbies that keep me busy when I have the time. I enjoy anything that involves building. Currently, I am learning how to sandcast to create items from brass and aluminum. I like to add electronics to replica lightsaber kits (enormous Star Wars fan) and any kind of woodworking project. While I’m not building, I relax with video games, a good book, and my cats.
A: My greatest travel experience was in July 2016. I traveled to London for my first Star Wars Celebration and was able to meet Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher on my birthday. I will never forget that day!
A: If you read my two previous answers, it won’t come as a surprise that a Star Wars movie is my favorite movie. My favorite is Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
A: My guilty pleasure music artist is Toby Keith. I love most music but country has a special place in my heart.
A: I would say that my father is my biggest inspiration. He always amazed me with the wealth of knowledge he possesses and it sparked my love of learning anything and everything.
A: Since I am very new to the tech field, my immediate goal is to learn as much as I can about the company and my role and to perform to the best of my abilities. I would also love to learn more about the security sector.
