Dear friends, clients, & partners,
This past year has been a typhoon of disastrous events, one right after another. We have all gone through some type of hardship, whether in our personal or professional lives. It required all to think on their feet and collaborate to solve every kind of obstacle we could overcome to alleviate the pressure 2020 had bestowed upon us. Keeping our family, friends, and colleagues in mind is what I think sped up the process to reopen and live a somewhat typical life. We made it to some kind of normalcy that will allow us to travel and save hospitality.
Before we eliminate the grim thought of 2020 entirely in the past, I can say there were many lessons learned. I learned a lot going through the pandemic. I now know that the hospitality industry will always be the first to get hit and the last to recover during a pandemic, economic collapse, and international crisis. I now know that travel will come to a screeching halt to secure our borders. I now know that our industry must be flexible enough to adopt new technologies to diminish any fear guests may experience while traveling during a crisis. These new lessons taught the Percipia team to be flexible and be creative to help where we can.
The company has been fortunate enough to get through the pandemic unscathed. Luckily, not a single employee had to be furloughed or laid off. Remote working allowed us to take a step back, reduce unnecessary expenditures, and focus on developing, rewriting, and refining our product suite. The Percipia Development Department really stepped up to show how you can turn an unfortunate situation into a constructive time to complete the tasks that were not as high on the priority list. We redeveloped Parallax and Frequency PBX and launched two new products Frequency Stratus (Cloud Call Control) and VIVA (Voice Integrated Virtual Assistant). I can't wait for you to see the latest platforms and rewrites.
Since my travels to Las Vegas, NV, and Biloxi, MS, there is no doubt in my mind hotel occupancy will substantially increase. Our friends in Biloxi, MS, reported record-breaking bookings at the beginning of May, which greenlit the coming months for the Percipia team.
Now we will focus on what's to come. We plan to visit clients and prospects, prepare for HFTP's HITEC 2021 on September 27th in Dallas, TX, and continue developing innovative, beneficial, and greener hotel solutions.
Thank you to all our clients, employees, partners for the unlimited support. I look forward to seeing you in person at HITEC.
Gratefully,
Michael Velasquez, CEO
